Today we went to Central Park and I met some squirrels and it’s hot here and I’m glad our apartment has an air conditioner.
Things that make me love America so much: $4 pint of beer with my lunch of a giant meatball brioche bun. Trains that run frequently and efficiently. Also buskers. They do buskers well here.

So that was basically the worst transit of my life. I wouldn’t recommend flying to NY from Melbourne via Abu Dhabi. Two 14-hour flights have basically fried my brain and all I want to do is sleep forever.
BUT the apartment is nice and super roomy and Manhattan Ave. already looks like so much fun. It is hot as balls here at the moment though and super humid, so the next little while might be rough.
Also: ELLIE IS ON HER WAY.
I’m turning off my MacBook and it’s not going to be turned on again until January 2013

I’m leaving the country tomorrow
And I physically cannot bring myself to pack my bag or pack up my room or do anything that will really mean that I’m going.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m crazy excited, but there are so many things I’m going to miss (read: my bed and Ziggy and my mother’s cooking) that it’s scary to think that as of tomorrow, I won’t be seeing them for a rather long time.
